Successful HydroMax Testing On DOE Project Announced

Diversified Energy Corporation (DEC) today announced successful test results from its HydroMax® advanced gasification technology. Under a 2007 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant from the Department of Energy (DOE) - National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), DEC has been developing and testing a unique molten-metals gasification technology designed to produce synthesis gas for the U.S. industrial market. Once commercialized, HydroMax® will reduce the industrial sector's dependence on high and volatile natural gas prices and provide for stable energy costs. The gasification system is capable of converting a broad range of hydrocarbons (including coal, biomass, waste products, etc.) into synthetic gas that affordably and reliably satisfies industrial natural gas demands.

Centia Biofuels Process Produces Bio-Gasoline Similar To Traditional Unleaded Gasoline

Diversified Energy Corporation (DEC) announced today that the Centia process, during a recent demonstration, produced a bio-gasoline fuel very similar to traditional unleaded gasoline. Centia is an advanced biofuels production process that takes any renewable oil input source (e.g. oils derived from agriculture crops, algae, animal fats, waste greases, etc.) and produces transportation fuels that are 1-for-1 replacements for petroleum jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline. Fuels produced from Centia could be operated in engines, stored, and distributed in an identical manner to fossil fuels today. The process was developed in 2006 by North Carolina State University (NCSU) and has been licensed exclusively by Diversified Energy.

Diversified Energy Team Wins Department Of Defense Renewable Fuel Production Contract

Diversified Energy Corporation (DEC) and Velocys Inc. have been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to design a portable renewable fuel production system based on DEC's breakthrough HydroMax gasification technology and Velocys' advanced Fischer-Tropsch approach. The goal of the DoD funded effort is to develop a transportable system that can convert waste products generated at military installations into 50 - 500 barrels per day of high performance renewable fuels such as diesel and aviation fuel. DoD is the single largest fuel consumer in the country, with an annual fuel budget of approximately $9 Billion and rising. Forward operating military bases generate scores of waste material and have an enormous demand for fuel products. As a result, an opportunity exists to incorporate advanced energy conversion technologies that can utilize waste materials to generate high performance fuels; thereby, reducing the logistical burden of fuel transportation for military operations. These benefits will ultimately result in lower military operating costs and markedly improved energy security for the DoD.
